Sallie Mae eCheck and eBill - Student

eBilling Information for Students:

  • Where can I view my bill?

  • The eBill will be available in two places:

  • On SallieMae: To get to SallieMae, go to the Portal and the Accounts and Billing section. Click on the link to "SallieMae ePay." This will take you to the SallieMae site. (You have to enroll the first time you go to the site). Your statements will be available by date.

Note:  In order to use this link, we suggest you either use Firefox or Internet Explorer as your browser.  Safari is not supported by the SallieMae site and you may encounter problems if you are using Safari.  To get to the site, you must allow pop-ups.  If you do not, you will not be successfully transferred to the SallieMae site.

It will also be available on the UCSC portal (my.ucsc.edu). Once signed on, go to the Accounts and Billing under the my.ucsc.edu menu. In Accounts and Billing, click on "Billing Statements" to be able to view your statements by date.

How will I be notified that I have a new eBill?

  • When a new eBill is put on the portal, you will be sent an e-mail notification to your campus e-mail address.

  • When a new eBill is posted to SallieMae, you will also be notified via e-mail, to your campus email address, as well as any other e-mail address you set in your SallieMae profile when you enroll on their site.  We highly recommend adding your personal email when you enroll.

How do I give my parent(s) access to my eBill?

  • Once you have enrolled in SallieMae, you are then able to invite your parent(s) to be an "Other Payer" on SallieMae. They must have an e-mail address that is valid. When you do this, SallieMae will send them an e-mail invitation to sign up on SallieMae. They will receive an access code which they will need to use. They will also need to know your seven digit student ID. Once they have enrolled in SallieMae, they will access the SallieMae site directly, not through your student portal, and they will receive notifications when a new statement is available. This should be the first thing that you do after enrolling if your parent(s) are going to be involved in making payments to UC Santa Cruz.

  • If your parent(s) don’t have e-mail/computer access, it is up to you to provide them with any billing information they may need.

How do I pay?

  • We recommend ePay at SallieMae: When you view your bill on the SallieMae site, you can choose to make an ePayment at that time. It is an eCheck payment. The payment information is sent to UCSC and usually posted to your account within one to two business days. Please be sure to read the instructions and use the correct information from your bank account (account type, routing number and account number) to avoid delays or problems with your payment.  There is a $0.95 convenience fee charged when making an eCheck payment.

  • You can choose to mail in your payment to the Cashier’s Office: You’ll need to print a payment coupon from the SallieMae site to send in with your payment. Including the payment coupon with your payment ensures that your payment can be posted quickly and accurately to your account. Also, be sure to put your Account/ID on your check. Checks should be made out to UC Regents. Do not send cash or correspondence to the Cashier’s Office. The Cashier’s Office address is: Cashier’s Office, UC Santa Cruz, 1156 High Street, Santa Cruz, CA  95064

  • Or finally, you may pay in person at the Cashier’s Office on campus or drop your payment into the outside depository box.
